Leif had his first birthday (on the 1st of January...sorry you have a slacker for a mommy). It is so hard to believe that he is already one!!! Leif is such a happy baby, always smiling and laughing. He brings so much joy into our lives and we are so blessed to have him in our family!!!
All the kids woke up at different times and Eric and Shar's kids had already opened their presents, so we did presents in shifts. Owen woke up first, then Leif, then Camden (he was so excited to get his star wars ship!!!). We actually had to go wake him up cause it was getting a little late (his ear was hurting that night so I had given him tylenol and it knocked him out). Anyway, they all loved their gifts and had tons of fun playing with cousins, aunts, uncles and Grandma and Grandpa Christmas morning.
We played a game that required eveyone to bring a dollar store gift. These hats were given out as some of the gifts...so we got to experience "pimp Parker"!!!!
We told the Christmas story so Shar and Eric's kids got all dressed up to play the parts. Jackson came into the kitchen and asked if we had any whipped cream, which we didn't so we used sour cream for his beard. Olivia just loves Leif and she was so excited to play Mary and have Leif be baby Jesus but Leif wouldn't really cooperate so we got out our Buzz Lightyear doll...he stayed still better!!!
My mother-in-law was probably the funniest one to go sit on Santa's lap. Earlier in the evening, she was trying to get dinner ready and she stabbed her hand with a really sharp knife, clear down to the tendon. Ron took her to the ER and she came back with her hand all bandaged up looking like she was #1. Anyway, she was called on to go sit on Santa's lap and she was so funny and excited to do it, I thought she was already on the pain meds...turns out, she hadn't taken one yet. She was just in the holiday spirit!!!
On Christmas Eve, we got to have a "special guest" come to our house and pass out stockings!!! As you can see, Cam was ok with it, Leif is thinking "who the crap is this guy", and you can just tell that my father-in-law was so excited to go sit on Santa's lap!!! Owen had just woken up from his nap so he just snuggled with our cousin Denis' daughter.
The neighbor kids came over and all the kids decided that they wanted to go sledding. Our neighbors across the street have an awesome hill in their backyard so we headed over there. The kids had so much fun...there was so much snow. Owen couldn't even walk, we had to carry him cause he couldn't lift his legs that high (hello Isaacson side). Anyway, Emma was a huge help and everyone had fun. Cam was kindof a wuss though and wouldn't got down. We had to force him and he only went a couple times. He had fun playing though!!! Owen went down by himself and at the bottom he yelled up, "that was awesome".
More of Owen falling asleep. One was in between our couch and the wall and the other was just on our rug by our table. The funny thing about the one by our table, is that he fell asleep reading LDS Living. He found it in our bathroom and was apparently enjoying it!!!
To add to the messy, not so fun part...we were finishing up the roof and putting on the decorations and the whole side collapses. I of course was ticked by this point. Cam looks at it after "the fall" and says "well, that doesn't look good". I died right there, almost wet my pants, I was laughing so hard!!! He helped my mood get better quickly!!
K- I know, these posts should be long gone..just deal ok. We decided to do a gingerbread house this year. Parker was gone so I thought it would be fun to do it for FHE. Owen and Cam each got to decorate a gingerbreadman and then this is Leif throwing a fit because no one could hold him while doing all of this!!! Then there is the front of our house. A lot harder than it looks...I have never really done one before. Messy and not as fun as I thought it was going to be.
I have a lot of excuses as to why I haven't blogged for so long but I will spare you the details. I am planning on blogging here in the next day or two. So I know you will all be on the edge of your seats waiting to see what exciting things we have been up to...just be patient!!! Ha ha hah!!!
